has been a city institution since 1911.

Since 1911 known as an established city restaurant, it was renamed Jack's Brasserie in 1993 with its namesake - Jack Gauer. The restaurant honors famous guests with engraved seats and offers traditional and modern brasserie dishes with regional and seasonal ingredients. Awarded with 14 Gault Millau points, the restaurant offers a stylish ambience and celebrates the 165th anniversary of the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa with monthly nostalgic menus presented by former chefs. 165 years Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa
Jack's Brasserie is celebrating in style. Past chefs return to present specially created nostalgic menus. In collaboration with the "Cercle des Chefs de Cuisine Berne" association, the "best of" from various eras will be presented. With the motto "Recipes from the old days", a 4-course menu is served each month that is reminiscent of the creative period of the respective chef and matches the respective season.

Former companion
Bernhard Schuster worked as an executive chef at the Schweizerhof from 1991 to 2000, where he cooked for Jacques Chirac, Yassir Arafat and Queen Beatrix, among others. In his role as chef, he has also worked in destinations such as Cape Town, Johannesburg, Klosters, Arosa and St. Moritz. Until 2018, the 67-year-old also worked as a coach in team counselling and team development, trained in neuro-linguistic programming and trauma healing and lives by the motto: "Go for it - (almost) anything is possible, but don't forget the people!"
